EC1I - Teacher and Parent: Strategies for Building a Partnership and Sharing Concerns (Pt I)
As educators, we have all had the experience of finding children in our care who challenge us in ways we never expected. We call upon our knowledge and skills to address the child's needs, but it may not be enough. These are children who are likely to be at risk of a developmental delay and who may require formal evaluation and perhaps special education services. You may find yourself in the role of the "messenger". How do you communicate your concerns to the parent in a way which will still allow for the possibility of a successful home/school collaborative approach for their child? This seminar explores the strategies, roles and definitions of building partnerships that lead to successful outcomes for the parent, the teacher and most of all, the child. In other words...Imagine the possibilities!
